Visit Our Campus

Campus Visit sessions are an opportunity for prospective first-year students, transfer, and graduate students to find out why UIS has been recognized as one of the top Regional Public Universities in the Midwest for more than a decade! Interact with admission staff and student ambassadors, learn more about UIS, our admission process, scholarships, housing, and campus life. We want you to leave feeling better acquainted with our Campus and having all your questions answered.

The 35-minute information session is followed by a 60-75 minute walking tour of campus conducted mostly outdoors. Please wear appropriate footwear and dress for the weather. Once you register you will receive a confirmation. You will receive a reminder email 24 hours before your visit with more details about directions and parking.

Make the most of your trip to the Capital City and get to know the community UIS calls home. Whether you are planning to stay overnight or a day visit, check the calendar of events to see what is going in Springfield. While you are in the Capital City explore some of our sites and places to eat. Walk in Lincoln’s footsteps – from the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum to the Lincoln Home or Tomb. No trip to Springfield is complete without trying a local favorite, the famous horseshoe sandwich.
